Cover Crop or Pollinator Habitat
2026 applications are now closed for cover crop consideration. Thank you for your interest!
In keeping with our Mission Statement, “Dedicated to assisting and educating our citizens in conservation management through the proper use of the soil, water, and natural resources of Wayne County for all generations”, the Wayne County SWCD applied for and was recently awarded a Clean Water Indiana (CWI) grant; Cover it, Wayne County! This grant will provide cost share funds for eligible producers for the implementation of cover crops and pollinator plantings on eligible tracts of land.
The Clean Water Indiana (CWI) Program was established to provide financial assistance to landowners and conservation groups. The financial assistance supports the implementation of conservation practices which will reduce nonpoint sources of water pollution through education, technical assistance, training, and cost sharing programs. The CWI fund is administered by the Division of Soil Conservation under the direction of the State Soil Conservation Board.
To apply for cover crop or pollinator habitat cost-share, both the ranking sheet and application found above must be submitted to the Wayne County SWCD, either by scanning and email to raquel.baker@in.nacdnet.net or mail/drop off to the SWCD office, 823 South Round Barn Road, Richmond, IN 47374. For questions please call 765-373-9542.
The SWCD Board of Supervisors shall make final decisions on all applications in regards to cost share funding and application approval.
